The SourMash Band CD This includes 6 SMB original tunes and some of the songs we wish we had written done SMB style. With 3 band members contributing to the writing on 5 of the 6 originals, it is easy to see that our style was heavily influenced by the traditional country sounds of Haggard, Jennings, & others of their era.
The 6th original was written by Bobby Terry who has also written songs for Lonestar, James Otto, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Montgromer Gentry & others. When we first heard Blown To Smithereens at our producers studio, we immediately knew it was a song we wanted to cut. We had to include some of our favorite songs from our influences including Vern Gosdin, Johnny Paycheck, Waylong Jennings, and Merle Haggard done SourMash Band style. 12 great country tunes tunes that will leave no doubt that we are 100% COUNTRY! Our Style! Our playlist is in the style of Haggard, Jones, Willie, Waylon, Hank Jr., and Cash with a little shot of Strait, Fowler, & Boland. Our musical roots were born in a Texas Dance Hall, where you learned how to two-step, polka, and waltz to great country sounds. A style of music that is more country than pop which is rare these days. Thank God for George Straight, Jamey Johnson, Alan Jackson, and Kevin Fowler for sticking to their roots and delivering real country music to fans today.
